MACROPHITIC FLORA OF BALIKDAMI LAKE (SIVRIHISAR/ESKISHEHIR)

In this study it was aimed to carry out macrophytic flora of Balıkdamı Lake locatedin
the Sivrihisar town within the boundaries of Eskişehir province, 190 km west of
Ankara.
From the phytogeographic point of view, the study area is located in the Irano-Turanian
floristic region and is under the influence of the Mediterranean climate .The area is
located in the square B3 according to Davis’s Grid system in The Flora of Turkey.
110 plant samples were collected from the study area between April 2011-July 2012.
65 species and sub-species have been identified based on the evaluation of the collected
plant specimens belonging to 35 families and 54 genera, Endemism ratio of the area is
% 4.6. Phytogeographic distribution of the species in the area is as follows; 18% Euro-
Siberian, %5 Irano-Turanian, %2 Mediterranean, % 1 Euxin, % 74 unknown and
widespread.
The richest family in the study area is Cyperaceae and the richest genus is Carex .
